各位領導團隊夥伴與親愛的會友們:

Today marks a new beginning of District 67. The first day of my official
term as your District Governor! I want to thank you all first for your
support & encouragement rendering to me over the years that make me strong
have more confidence! I also want to thank our Immediate Past District
Governor James Lin’s leadership in the past year! James is such a dedicated
and devoted leader! He has dug more for our District along with the sound
foundation laid by our past district leaders, I believe that we could reap
more in the future!

今天是台灣地區總會一個新的開始，也是我第一天正式接任總會長！我首先要感謝大家多年來對我的支持與鼓勵，使我能夠堅強並更有自信!我也要感謝剛卸任的林義雄前總會長！他是一位全心投入與奉獻的領導者，由於林前總會長的深耕，加上歷任總會領導者打下的健全基礎，我相信台灣地區總會一定會有個豐收的未來!

In the coming year, our challenges are big; however, our District is lucky
to have a very strong service team to serve our fellow members. I hope our
district could be more internationalized by having more interactions with
our neighboring districts, such as China & Japan, and have more interflows
among our clubs, areas and divisions, solid education & training, high
quality club meetings & contests, charter new clubs and reach out to our
society!

在未來的一年，我們將面臨更大的挑戰，但我們很幸運的組成了一個堅強的服務團隊來服務會友!我期盼我們能更加的國際化，與我們鄰近的地區總會如中國與日本有更多的交流，各分會、分區與分部間有更多的互動，有更紥實的教育訓練，更佳品質的會議與比賽，開創新會並踏出社會服務人群!

The slogan for my term this year is “Soar to a New Height”! I hope we
Toastmasters can fly high like an eagle! We could flap the strong wings of
passion and persistence along with the wind of support and trust from our
fellow members beneath our wings enabling us to soar to a new height and
achieve our goals! We will do our best!

How are you?

Hope everything goes well!

The International Convention is coming soon. It’s a great movable Feast that Toastmasters in the world will gather there to enjoy the educational program and speech contests.  

Our past District Governor, Dick Fu, said that we are as Toastmasters, at least need to join it once in our life time if it’s possible.

 This time, International Convention will be at  Palm Desert, California, Aug. 11-14, 2010, it is very close to Taiwan! Please see details as below link:

Besides, our Past District Governor, Past International Director, George Yen, will run for the Second Vice President of  Toastmasters International. It will also be great to support him to win the election. Then several years later, Toastmasters International will have International President from Taiwan! This is a great Milestone!

Of course, Sammy Su will also join the speech contest there. It will be a good support to her if we could come to the Convention.

國際演講會世界大會日漸接近了! 這超級的移動響宴即將到來. 全世界許多優秀的會員將再相聚,享受一年一度的教育訓練及演講比賽.

1       Flight information

1.1      航空公司：長榮航空

1.2      出發日期及班機號碼：BR12 /10AUG/台北-洛杉機 /18:40-15:55

1.3      回程日期及班機號碼：BR 1/16AUG/洛杉機-台北/ 01:30-05:50 (加一天17AUG)

2       行程重點

2.1      參加2010年演講會會世界年會，與來自全世界約2千位會友們，分享彼此的經驗，以及年會中十場教育及領導單元的課程。

2.2      參加8月12日(星期四)第一組的演講比賽準決賽，為台灣代表Sammy Su加油。

2.3      參加8月14日(星期六)年度公眾演講比賽的決賽。

2.4      訪問Toastmasters International的總部。

2.5      參觀LA的景點，如Hollywood , 環球影城, and much more.

3       費用

3.1      團體機票：10人以上約41,500(含稅) ,個人票約48,000(含稅)

3.2      世界年會註冊費：七月八日前US$575，之後US$625，現場US$725

3.3      世界年會場地住宿(Desert Spring Marriott Resort and SPA)：每日US$119，單人或雙人房，11%稅另加。

3.4      不包括：

3.4.1 由LA機場到飯店交通，搭Shuttle Bus每人約US$70，詳細資料如附。

3.4.2 大會完畢遊覽行程的交通，可能在飯店直接租車前往。(飯店內有租車公司Hertz櫃台)

4.3.3 下午3點至8點30分參加演講比準決賽，Sammy將與其他八個District的代表，角逐決賽權。

4.4.1 上午自由活動

4.4.2 下午多場次的教育課程

4.4.3 晚上7點，Golden Gavel Dinner，專題演講。

4.5      8月14日(星期六)

4.5.1 早上7點30分，世界總會幹部選舉。

4.5.2 下午1點，世界演講比賽決賽。

4.5.3 晚上7點30分，盛裝參加世界總會長的晚宴及舞會，以及新任世界總會長的佈達典禮。

4.6      8月15日(星期日)

4.6.1 早上Check out

4.6.2 參觀Toastmasters International總部

工作內容：依世界總會World Headquarter的授權，翻譯現有英文版的Toastmasters教材為繁體中文，再交由世界總會出版，供全世界中文分會的會員使用。

報名資格：中華民國國際演協會有效會籍的會員，自信有能力翻譯現有英文教材，也有興趣，也願意貢獻一些時間。

翻譯教材：(依世界總會授權內容)

• 1. 部份進階溝通手冊Advanced Communication Manuals.
• 2. 每月演講會雜誌指定的文章Articles from Monthly Toastmasters Magazines.
• 3. 成功會務系列Successful Club Series.
• 4. 精進演講系列Better Speaker Series.
• 5. 成功領導系列Successful Leadership Series.
• 6. 高效能領導課程High Performance Leadership.
• 7. 青少年領導課程Youth Leadership Program.

你必須要有的認知：

• 1. 所有的中英文文件，其版權屬世界總會，除本委員會外，非經世界總會允許，不得以任何方式傳送他人。
• 2. 簽署世界總會頒的翻譯同意書，並同意所列的各式條款。
• 3. 義務性質，無稿費。
• 4. 依時限交稿。

完成翻譯作業後，你將會獲得：

• 1. 所翻譯的中文手冊，版權頁將會印出你的大名。
• 2. 一本你所參與翻譯的手冊。

As our District Governor Marian Hsiao mentioned, adding new members (including re-instated and dual members) is very crucial to our District! After discussion with Marian and based on the financial status of our District, I list the following awards to encourage each club to recruit more new members:

正如我們的總會長 蕭敏環 女士所言，增加新會員(包括會籍恢復或雙重會籍會員)是我們台灣總會的當務之急!在與蕭總會長討論並衡量總會財務狀況後，茲列出下列增加新會員的獎勵辦法供大家參考：

1. Adding 6-9 new members from Apr. 1 to June 30: 1,000 NT$

4月1日~6月30 日止，分會召募6-9人: 獎金1,000元。

2. Adding 10 or more members from Apr.1 to June 30: 2,000 NT$

4月1日~6月30 日止，分會召募10人以上，獎金2,000元。

3. Chartering a new club from today (4/16) to June 30: 4,000 NT$

即日起(4月16日)~6月30 日止, 創立一個新分會，獎金4,000元。

The clubs applying for this award must submit the receipt (or evidence) of new member fee payment to LGM Mike Yang by the end of June. We will present the awards in the new officer training in June or July!

請將新會員繳費收據或證明在六月底前寄給推廣副總會長楊冀光，以計算新會員人數。總會將在6月底與七月初的新任分會幹部訓練時頒獎！

In addition, there will be a “Beat the Clock Award” from the Toastmasters International. Adding five new, dual or reinstated members to your roster between May 1 to June 30, the club will get this special award! A Ribbon will display on your club’s banner. The club will also earn a choice of one module from The Better Speaker Series, The Successful Club Series or The Leadership Excellence Series. Transfer and charter members do not count for credit. There is no need to apply for this award. Your club will be automatically recorded when the application is received in May and June.  Let’s go for it!

此外，提醒各分會爭取每年五月一日至六月三十一日期間五位以上新會員的加入，世界總會將頒發給各分會「新會員衝刺獎」！這五位新會員可包含雙重或會籍恢復會員。得到此一獎項，不但可以贏得榮譽綬帶，並可獲得壹本來自最佳演講系列、成功會務系列、或領導統御精進系列手冊。至於轉籍會員或創會新會員則不列入計算。此一獎項您不必自行申請，世界總會只要在五月與六月間收到五位以上新會員申請表即自動生效。 大家加油！

I would like to remind you that each club needs to submit the semi-annual fee (Apr. to Sep.) of your members to Toastmasters International by 3/31! You could do it directly through the Internet!

It would be better if you could do it before 3/25 as the Internet might sometimes be jammed during that period of time! Our District did a wonderful job last time that all the clubs submitted the semi-annual fee by the deadline! I believe we could do it again this time!

提醒每個分會在三月三十一日之前，繳交世界總會四月至九月的半年會員會費！你可使用網路繳費，但最好提前在三月二十五日前繳交，因為網路在這段時間有時可能會阻塞！

台灣區總會在上半年的繳費時，所有的分會都如期繳交；本人深信這次繳費我們同樣也可以作到！

親愛演講會幹部們大家好，

First of all, I would like to wish you a "Very Happy Chinese New Year" on behalf of our District Governor, Marian Hsiao.  In order to provide all of the Toastmasters members with an opportunity to offer New Year greetings, get together, have fun and learn, we are going to hold a District Chinese New Year Gathering.  All the fellow members island-wide are welcome to join this both educational and entertaining event.

首先，謹代表總會長 蕭敏環女士向全國會員拜早年，祝大家春節快樂。為了提供一個會員互相賀年、團聚、敘舊、歡樂也是充電的機會，特地舉辦一場新春團拜活動，歡迎全國會員參加這場兼具知性與娛樂性的聚會。

Features of the program:

節目特色將會有：

(1) The "sensational and amazing" Master of Humor, Andreas Ouyang who was also the Champion of 1995 National Tall Tell Contest will share with us his secrets of successful public speaking and table topics speaking skills.

(2) The Sisters of Wang, Wang, Yu-Mei and Wang Yu-Hua will present their spectacular talents by giving a Chinese Cross Talk. Yu-Hua was the Champions for both National Chinese Humorous Speech Contest and National Chinese Evaluation Contest in 2004.  And Yu-Mei was the Champion for both 2004 National Taiwanese Table Topics Contest and 2002 National Chinese Speech Contest.

(1) 轟動武林、驚動全國的幽默大師，1995 年全國英語吹年比賽冠軍 Andreas Ouyang將到現場傳授"演講/即席演講技巧武功秘笈精華"。

(2) 絕代雙驕才女王玉華及王玉梅姊妹將到現場表演精彩的相聲。玉華是2008年全國國語幽默演講及2004年全國國語講評雙料冠軍。而玉梅是2004年全國閩南語即席演講及2002年全國國語指定演講雙料冠軍。

Their outstanding performance which won't be possibly got by even more than 10 Consumer Vouchers will be the District's New Year Gift for all the fellow members.  Since the seats are limited, please register A.S.A.P.
