Dwayne G. Smith has traveled and lived in numerous places, from Atlanta to Afghanistan yet, no matter the environment, three things remained constant: his faith in God, faith in self and his compulsion to help others.
Though Smith led a comfortable life as an information technology professional, he couldn't escape the feeling that his real talent was inspiring others to achieve success. Once he decided to embark on a career as a professional speaker, he applied a philosophy that has worked for him in the past: set a goal, do the work and stay the course.
Instead of relying on his experience as a computer network analyst, Smith chose to go to speakers' school and became an active member of Toastmasters. He soon became a star pupil, entering and winning numerous Toastmaster contests. In 2002 he reached the top with two major accomplishments. From a group of over 25,000 contestants worldwide, Dwayne was crowned 2002 World Champion of Public Speaking. It was also during that year that he achieved his DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster) award, the highest educational designation in Toastmasters.
Bolstered by his success in Toastmasters and determined to make speaking a full-time career, Smith launched the Speakers Coalition in 2003. Since then he has received requests from numerous organizations including Aetna, the American Cancer Society, Delta Airlines, Clark Atlanta University, BellSouth Financial Group, American Government Accountants and many others.
Eager to impact as many people as possible, Smith has produced videos, Bringing Out The Winner In You and
Now That's A Story. He is also the author of a book of poetry called, The Lifting of the Veil: Words of a Male
Romantic. His latest book is called, "A World of Difference: From Shy and Quiet, To World Champion Speaker.
